Digital Learning
At Foster’s Primary School, digital learning plays a vital role in preparing our children for the rapidly changing world in which they will grow up. Our approach to learning is enhanced by Apple iPads, empowering our children to become confident and responsible users of technology, equipping them with the skills, knowledge and creativity needed for their future. In an increasingly technology-driven society, digital technologies continue to shape and enable our lives in profound ways.
In September 2025, we began our journey of introducing Apple devices to support digital learning across Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 as part of our commitment to providing an engaging, modern and inclusive curriculum for all of our children. This means that pupils in these year groups will be using Apple iPads and related educational tools to support their learning in class.
Our aim is not simply to use technology for the sake of it, but to harness its power to:
- Deepen understanding through interactive and creative experiences.
- Personalise learning so every child can progress at their own pace.
- Encourage curiosity, independence and digital skills for now and the future.
- Make learning more accessible and engaging across all subjects.
Our digital approach is grounded in three key principles: Accessibility, Digital Excellence and Curriculum Creativity. We want every child to feel confident, excited and empowered in their learning – and technology can play a vital role in achieving this.
This transition is implemented by our Digital Learning Leads Mrs Freeman and Mr Gregory and alongside our dedicated teaching team. Staff have been, and will continue to undergo, training and development to ensure that the use of iPads is purposeful and enhances and supports, rather than replaces, traditional learning methods.
We’re proud to be taking this exciting step together as a school community and continue to find innovative ways to use digital learning tools and strategies to further enhance the curriculum.
